Four lines are enough to say who we are: the words of the Akon’ny Lanitra anthem, written by Fitiavana Rbrl.

At Akon’ny Lanitra, our vision fits within our anthem. The words are by Fitiavana Rbrl:

Mihira, midera, ho iraka @ asa fitoriana,

Hamerina ny ondry am-bala,

Hitaona ny hafa ho any an-danitra.

In English: to sing, to praise, sent out for the work of evangelism, to bring the sheep back to the fold, to draw others toward heaven.

Mihira, midera: To Sing and to Praise

We start from praise. Above all, we sing to honour God. This is why the choir came into being on 19 June 2022: to praise through music.

Ho iraka: Sent Out

We see ourselves as messengers. Our music takes us beyond our own church: evangelistic campaigns, concerts, and meetings with other churches and other young people. For us, to sing is also to preach.

Hamerina ny ondry am-bala: To Bring Back

This line expresses our care for those who have drifted away. Our three-year motto, #TsyMisyHoVery (“no one will be lost”), points in the same direction.

Hitaona ny hafa: To Draw Others Toward Heaven

The name we bear, Akon’ny Lanitra, expresses the same hope: that others, in their turn, will long to look toward heaven.

A Vision for Everyday Life

This vision carries on the intention of our beginnings: to bring together the young people of the church and create an atmosphere among them where everyone feels at ease. It is lived out in our training to sing better, in our trips to meet others, and in our service activities with the church’s youth.
